This is the second time poor working relationship with employer will cost Sunday Oliseh his job.
The second division Dutch club, Fortuna Sittard have revealed that Sunday Oliseh was placed on non-active duty mode for his poor working relationship with both players and officials of the club.
Fortuna Sittard stated this in a statement released on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, to clear the air about the real cause of their action. The club said the action was not taken as a result of the team’s current performance as Oliseh has already qualified them for the promotion playoffs.
The club’s statement read: “Fortuna Sittard immediately puts coach Sunday Oliseh on non-active.
“The club management makes this decision as a result of the repeatedly culpable actions for a longer period by the trainer towards several persons in the organisation.

“Several attempts by the club to move the trainer to other behaviour were unfortunately without result, resulting in an unworkable situation.
“The board of Fortuna Sittard emphasises that the decision to disband Sunday Oliseh is not motivated by the current sporting performance.
“Because of his inadmissible actions, the coach has made the cooperation with many people within the organization impossible. From players to employees.
“Fortuna Sittard regrets the decision, but states that the club interest goes above all else.”

Over the past few weeks, there has been a rumour of the ex-super Eagles coach sack by the Dutch club. However, the information was denied by the club. With this decision, it seems the relationship between Oliseh and the club has not been cordial in recent time.
In 2016, Oliseh walked out of his contract with the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) as the coach of the Super Eagles. This was also due to a similar frosty relationship between Oliseh and the NFF.
