Arsenal and Manchester City meet for the second time in five days as Arsene Wenger looks to avenge a humbling EFL Cup final defeat against Pep Guardiola’s Premier League title favourites.

The two sides clashed at Wembley on Sunday, but Arsenal came off second best as Vincent Kompany inspired City to a 3-0 victory to seal Guardiola’s first trophy in English football.

The Gunners must forget their cup disappointment quickly and turn their attentions back to the Premier League, with their top-four hopes hanging by a thread.

Arsenal now sit 10 points behind fourth-placed Tottenham with a game in hand, and anything less than a win against City – who have dropped just nine points all season – will likely leave Europa League glory as the only route back into the Champions League next season.

Nacho Monreal is a doubt for Arsenal after being substituted off early in Sunday’s EFL Cup final due to injury.

Sead Kolasinac replaced the Spaniard, and could start at the Emirates – though it depends on whether Wenger sticks with the three-man defence which started on Sunday, or reverts to a back four.

For Manchester City, Striker Gabriel Jesus (knee) could come into contention after almost two months out, though Raheem Sterling is doubtful. Fabian Delph remains suspended, so Oleksandr Zinchenko or Danilo could feature with Benjamin Mendy (knee) out long term.
