Entertaining a visitor in most Nigerian homes recently can be burdensome, stressful and demanding.
The cost of entertaining these visitors is seen as a burden, especially when the means is not there. Here are 9 upsetting things you should except from Nigerian visitors.
1. They come unannounced
Some Nigerian visitors do not care to notify the host of their visit because they believe they will always be welcomed.
They show up at your door step without announcing while they expect you to cater to their needs.
2. They have come to eat your food
When a Nigerian visitor comes knocking on your door unannounced just know that they are there to eat.
They may even make you prepare a full meal that you didn’t plan for.
3. They can pretend
Nigerian visitors will usually pretend they do not want anything when they arrive. When you offer food or drink, they may even pretend not to want at first, but will later eat.
4. They make unnecessary remarks
If they are visitors that know so much about the host, they talk about everything. From how your gadgets and furniture are not up to date how they just bought theirs which are worth millions of Naira.
5. They know when food is ready
Most Nigerian visitors will come when food is served; take the spoon to eat, only to ask if he/she has eaten someone else’s food.
It is almost as if, they know when the food is ready and only come to eat after you have gone through stress of cooking.
6. They behave like house owners
Some of the Nigerian visitors behave in a rude manner when they come to your house. They can take over the television remote like they own the place.
7. They interfere to family affairs
Some of them love to contribute to private family matters, especially if they are distance family members. They might even go ahead to scold the children in the house.
8. They make the host uncomfortable
Some Nigerian visitors can become so demanding of their host, that you wish they never visited. They will send you on countless errands just to make sure you are up and doing.
10. They refuse to leave
Some Nigerian visitors will arrive at your door step with a bag but before you realise what is happening they already have a room to themselves in your house.
They will tell you it’s just a few days but ended up staying for 10 years.
